About the Event
Sure, the number one thing employers look for is experience. But what if there was an opportunity for work experience that could also deepen your understanding of and connection to the lands you live on? If you are 17-25 and keen to be part of a project that can broaden mindsets, this Take Over is for you.
Will Austin from Yarn Bark has created an online course titled 'Acknowledging Country Meaningfully', which gives people the tools they need to honour historical truths and pave the way forward. Your role in this Take Over will be to help create a youth perspective module for the course and then organise an online event to launch it.
Your finished project will reach thousands of people around the country and the world. In doing so, your work will deepen the awareness of invited organisations and community members of what it means to acknowledge First Nations history and country and help foster connection between all peoples.
This program is excellent for young people interested in event organising, video production and learning about First Nations history and culture.
You don't have to have done anything like this before. It's your chance to learn and be a part of a project you can be proud of.
Sessions will run online on Thursdays from 4pm - 6pm.
